On the north shore of Vieques Island in Bravos de Boston, the Palm Cottages comprise a residential compound which was formerly a church, its rectory and several small out buildings.

Located in the heart of the lovely
Vieques Garden District, the Cottages
are surrounded by exceptional tropical gardens designed and maintained by the well-known Bravos Boyz whose offices are located in the old church.

The compound includes two Cottages, the Palm Cottage and the Pool Cottage,
which share a beautifully landscaped, private pool.

A winding walkway through a lush side garden leads from the entry gate to the Cottages which are hidden from the street. Nestled by the pool, the Cottages overlook a charming Carribbean neighborhood of colorful houses and luxuriant tropical landscape.

The compound and neighborhood delight the senses in every way. Horses meander by on the beach road. Dragonflies hover over the pool. One sees and hears chickens and hummingbirds, tiny lizards, the rolling surf and the almost constant, hypnotic rustle of palm trees. The fragrances of ylang-ylang, gardenias, orchids, frangipani, beach lilies and jasmine perfume the air and beautiful La Chata beach, a few steps away, is perfect for a long stroll and has excellent spots for snorkeling.

Once the old church rectory, the Palm Cottage has an open floor plan and was designed for easy island living and entertaining. The living and dining areas overlook the pool through large, floor-to-ceiling, shuttered and screened windows.

Sleeping areas are comprised of an open area in the main room and a separate bedroom which opens out toward the Folly. The stylish bathroom has a large outdoor   shower. Multiple ceiling fans move the breezes and heighten the romantic feeling.

Adjacent to the Palm Cottage is the delightful Folly. A folly is defined in Webster's dictionary as a "whimsical structure erected to enhance a romantic landscape." The Folly, a tiny screened outdoor living area, is just that, and is the perfect spot for morning coffee, an afternoon nap or game of backgammon, and evening cocktails.

At one time the church offices, the Pool Cottage has the quintessential Caribbean outdoor living area next to the pool. A custom designed concrete dining table seats easily seats eight and the cozy seating area is perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one with an outside shower) comprise the sleeping areas and a cozy sitting room complete with chaise lounge further compliments the interior space which is air conditioned.

With interiors painted in luscious tropical colors and dark modern furniture, including cozy upholstered pieces, both Cottages are decorated in a sexy, sophisticated, yet very comfortable, island style. The Cottages have dark concrete floors and contemporary concrete countertops and sinks in the kitchens and bathrooms. Artwork from island artists, antiques and personal possessions, and an eclectic selection of reading materials gives one a sense of truly being at "home away from home."  

Each of the Palm Cottages comes complete with everything one needs for a perfect island vacation.

What a wonderful week we've had here at the Palm Cottage! This place is a perfect refuge from the hustle and bustle of life.

We loved frolicking in the gorgeous pool, and the "Folly Room" offered a romantic candle lit escape.

Jennifer was incredibly gracious and helpful with her assistance and guidance regarding our stay in Vieques. We wish we didn't have to leave, and definately plan to come back.

The Palm Cottage casts its spell on you instantly - the sound of the ocean, the breezes in the palms, the cocorico's, and the perfumes of the garden.

Our week was magical. We were well taken care of by Jennifer, Tom and Kevin and the Bravos Boyz. The cottage is precious and the "folly" fabulosa.

To say this cottage is marvelous would be an understatement. I could live forever in the "folly" room. Just take a book and read all day in the cool tropical breezes. And to top it all off one of the "Bravos Boyz" turned out to be a Mississippi Delta Boy".

....our time in Palm Cottage was very special - a charming place made exceptional by the hospitality f Tom , Kevin and the Boyz.(Luis is the Man!). Truly a home away from home, it was a pleasure to return here each evening after a day of exploring..... we'll be back!

We have had a wonderful ten days in Vieques at the Palm Cottage - enjoyed the breezes, surf sounds and the pool - very comfortable. Our first visit to the island, I know we will be back. Thank you Tom, Kevin and Luis.

We love Vieques and we love the Palm Cottage. What a beautiful, comfortable place to spend our holiday. The home is beautiful in its simple design and the gardens are magnificent. We've already talked about creating a Folly room of our own at home.
 
We look forward to our next visit - may it be sooner rather than later.

WOW.....what a great vacation! From the moment we arrived at Palm Cottage, we began to relax. The gardens are beautiful and the house is charming. The pool is perfect. Thanks for a perfect vacation experience Tom and Kevin.

Just retreating to the Folly room for a final time, to say what a wonderful stay we have had at Palm Cottage. The Palm Cottage is nothing less than perfect.....it's not easy to create the kind of environment that w got to experience here. The beautiful lush gardens, the architecture of the concrete walls, the simplicity of the pool. I will remember the light and the beautiful cast of shadows to be found all around. We'll be back.

Our stay at the Palm Cottage was exactly what we needed - peaceful, calm, comfortable.  From the gen tle breeze ever flowing through the house, to the subtle lighting and stylish yet homey decor, to the magnificent pool for lounging and the Folly room for napping, you have gone out of your way to create a unique and memorable get away.
